After making headlines for the jet he figted to the U.S., Qatar’s Emir is now making international headlines because of his superyacht Al Lusail built by Lürssen.
After offering the luxury aircraft, Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani set sail aboard his $500 million superyacht, Al Lusail.
Docked in the sparkling waters of Mallorca, the yacht quickly became the center of attention.
With its sleek design and over-the-top amenities, it’s less a boat and more a floating five-star palace.

The superyacht was built by the renowned German Shipyard Lürssen.
If that sounds familiar, it’s because Lürssen also built the $450 million, 466-foot megayacht owned by Google co-founder Sergey Brin.
Al Lusail is 404 feet of gleaming steel and sleek aluminum, delivered in 2017 and named after a city in Qatar.

It’s one of the largest private yachts in the world, and one of the most secretive.
Designed by H2 Yacht Design on the outside and March & White on the inside, it’s a blend of modern luxury and royal opulence.
It’s a palace on water, which is quite appropriate for Qatar’s Emir.

The yacht reportedly accommodates up to 36 guests and 56 crew members.
Inside, it features an indoor cinema, a full spa, a gym, and an indoor pool.
And yes, there’s a helipad.
How else can it be considered one of the most expensive superyachts in the world?
Panoramic glass walls flood the interior with sunlight, while polished marble and custom furnishings ensure it feels more like a luxury hotel than a sea vessel.
There’s even a garage for a limousine, in case Qatar’s Emir decides to disembark in style.

The ship cruised into Port Andratx in Mallorca, with its sleek silhouette dwarfing nearby yachts.
Though its visit was quiet, it didn’t go unnoticed.
Locals and luxury spotters marveled at the superyacht’s presence, which felt more like a moving museum of prestige than a vacation stop.
In any case, Mallorca seems to be a hotspot for superyacht owners around the world, given that Jeff Bezos’ $500 million superyacht was spotted in Mallorca back in 2024.
