Queen Elizabeth II once owned the second most expensive car in the world, a Bentley State Limousine, which came in a unique specification specifically for the Queen.

The Queen sadly passed away in 2022, but during her life, she was seen in many different cars and vehicles.

Naturally, many of these cars were incredibly luxurious and had some interesting specifications to suit the monarch’s needs.

One of the finest was a Bentley State Limousine, which was gifted in 2002. This was a very special car, and one that was delivered to the queen with some unique features.

What made the Bentley the second most expensive car in the world?

The Queen was gifted this incredible car back in 2002, costing $10 million.

It was a Bentley State Limousine, and it was gifted to mark the Queen’s Golden Jubilee.

Naturally, as a VIP transport, the car was unique and had some interesting features for Her Majesty.

The Bentley had Kevlar-reinforced tires, a blast-resistant cabin, and armor-plated doors.

These were to protect the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, and other occupants from possible attack.

If gas was used in an attack, the interior of the Bentley could be made airtight to prevent it from getting in.

Plus, Bentley also specially strengthened the glass and body of the car.

The Bentley State Limousine was tailored to the Queen’s taste

Bentley also made sure the car was tailored to suit Queen Elizabeth II’s tastes.

The passenger cabin was very spacious with large windows, allowing Her Majesty to see and wave at onlookers.

There was plenty of luggage space, and the doors were hinged differently to allow easier entry and exit.

The cabin had plenty of height, and lambswool was used to deck out the rear seats.

Bentley even gave Her Majesty plenty of extra legroom.

Two of these limousines were made for the Queen, each with a 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged Rolls-Royce/Bentley L-Series V8 engine.

Both are still part of the Royal Family fleet, with them now serving as state limousines for King Charles III.

With just two built, these are some of the rarest cars in the world.
