The Ram 1500 TRX is a beast, but after one owner had engine issues, he decided on one big solution.

Instead of opting for a dealership to fix his engine bay, he decided to choose a tuner in Texas to help

Enlisting that expertise gave his Ram truck a new lease of life thanks to one clever solution.

And, on a test run, the roar from underneath the hood was unmistakable.

This Ram 1500 TRX had an engine makeover

It’s no secret that pickups are a popular vehicle in the US, but just wait until you see this Ram 1500 TRX in all its glory.

The guys over at Late Model Racecraft – LMR took on the challenge of transforming the TRX, and with their expertise in powering cars to the max, it was set to be an exciting build.

The Ram in question belonged to an owner called Mr Coots, who had put around 16,000 to 17,000 miles on the odometer before discovering some engine issues.

So, before any more power was added to the Ram 1500 TRX, the engine was sent out for a freshening up.

To make the engine supercharger ready, the LME guys still kept some stock parts like the crank, rods, and pistons, but the engine was now, like new.

Now, comes the exciting bit of making the Ram move like never before

The solution? Extra horsepower in abundance

The Ram1500 TRX owner wanted more power, so that’s exactly what the LMR guys delivered.

They got rid of the factory supercharger and instead installed a ‘big three-liter Whipple’.

With this came larger injectors and a booster pump for the fuel pump to make it really roar.

Despite the new influx of power, the truck was still said to drive like stock, as it still had the classic manifolds and CATS, but this time produced just under 900hp.

Tests by the Texas tuner proved the high horsepower win, with epic results, 877hp to be exact.

Now, when rolling off the production line, the Ram TRX produces around 700hp, so it’s clear that the supercharger package did its job.

And one thing is for sure, the Ram sure did roar.
