The staff at a Las Vegas car rental company was left baffled after a wealthy customer hired a Lamborghini Huracán and abandoned it in the middle of the desert.

The $300,000 supercar had been missing for several days before staff were able to track it down.

The Lamborghini Huracán was eventually discovered in the middle of the Arizona desert.

Incredibly, the car didn’t have a mark on it and looked as good as it did when it left the rental company’s premises.

The Lamborghini Huracán was missing for days

Renting out high-end motors and supercars can be a very lucrative business – this one woman makes almost $1 million a year loaning out her 69-car fleet.

But, of course, renting something with such a high value comes with its risks.

VSSR Vegas found this out first-hand in 2023, when a wealthy customer hired a $300,000 Lamborghini Huracán before disappearing. Ouch.

The rental team was left panicked as they attempted to get in touch with the customer with no success.

After realizing their calls would continue to go unanswered, they were able to use the Huracán’s GPS tracking system to help pinpoint the whereabouts of the supercar

“Let me find out where the heck this is, because this is not making sense at all,” VSSR Vegas owner Jasen Reasbeck said in a clip uploaded to YouTube.

“This guy did not seem this way. This is weird, this doesn’t happen.”

The car turned up in the middle of the desert

The system revealed that the Lamborghini Huracán had been left in the Arizona desert so Jasen drove out to check it out.

Upon arrival, he discovered the car had its window partially down and had been left unlocked.

Jasen was completely baffled by how and why the car had been left there – noting that it was left in the middle of nowhere and would have required a fair amount of off-roading to end up where it was.

However, an inspection of the car revealed that – thankfully – there were no scratches, dents, marks, or dings and it looked as fresh as it did the day it was rented.

So how did it get there?

Well, Jasen was eventually able to get in touch with the customer who told him that he had driven to the middle of the desert with his girlfriend to propose.

However, following his romantic proposal the customer and his new fiancé were picked up by helicopter and whisked away – after which he seemingly forgot all about the Lamborghini Huracán.

“This is the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard in my life,” Jasen said.

Yep – you can say that again. We’re just glad the car was OK.
