Every Rolls-Royce car takes between five and six months to build.
This is because very nearly ever single component of a new Rolls-Royce is handmade.
This may not apply to the engine, the tires, or the suspension, but it does apply to every customizable element, which is virtually everything else.

Rolls-Royce prides itself on its ‘robot-free’ assembly line
Rolls-Royce often reminds its fans and customers that the assembly line used by the brand is as close to ‘robot-free’ as you can get these days.
The company only has two robots in the factory, but the rest of the assembly line involves real humans doing things by hand.
The most time consuming feature
Paint is probably the most important and time-consuming element of the process.
Customers can choose between 44,000 different colors, but if that’s not good enough, they can always create their own color, which could be anything, including for example the color of the customer’s favorite lipstick.
If you create your own color, you can name it, and Rolls-Royce will never use it again for any other car, unless you give them permission to do so.
The paint can also be infused with materials, for example diamonds or gold.
Each car is hand-painted, including the coachline, which is only done by one person.
For the last 21 years, Rolls-Royce’s Coachline Painter Mark Court has decorated every single car that left the factory, from the super rare (and expensive) La Rose Noire to Supercar Blondie’s very own custom Spectre.
The interior is also handmade
Every detail of the interior is also handmade, from the wood veneer to the leather upholstery.
The leather is cut by hand, and hand-stitched.
This takes up to two weeks.
And then there’s the starlight headliners, which is also customized at the request of the client, which takes up to 16 hours to build.
Good things come to those who wait, as they say, and you do have to wait a long time for a Rolls-Royce.
