Remember the Saudi billionaire who flew a fleet of gold supercars to London UK for vacation getarounds?

Well, a slight dampener was put on his sightseeing when his cars were hit with fines.

The cars drew crowds who came to gawp at the $1.85m fleet on the streets of the English capital.

However, the gold supercars also attracted the attention of a parking enforcement officer who, despite their exorbitant value, slapped parking tickets on their windshields.

The gold supercars

The internet, Londoners, and tourists alike were in a frenzy a few hours ago as Saudi billionaire Turki Bin Abdullah parked up.

Rather than the Tube or a red bus, he’d decided a convoy of gold supercars was most appropriate to navigate the streets of London.

The fleet comprised a gilded yet rugged $462,000 Mercedes G63 AMG 6×6.

There was also a Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe – a two-door version of the world’s most desirable limousine.

Under the hood of the $437,000 über-luxurious coupe is a 6.75-liter engine, capable of a top speed of 155mph (249km/h).

Of course, there was a supercar: the Lamborghini Aventador SV.

Worth around $437,000, its 6.5-liter V12 engine, accelerates from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 2.7 seconds, going on to reach a top speed of 217mph (349km/h).

Last, but not by any means least, the Saudi gearhead also brought along his Bentley Flying Spur customized by Mansory.

Worth $275,000, the four-door limousine also has a top speed of 200mph (322km/h).

It’s believed to cost in excess of $25,000 to fly the vehicles around 3,000 miles (4,828 km) from the Middle East to London.

One of the world’s scarcest and most expensive cars was spotted boarding a plane in this rare sighting.

The billionaire faced fines

However, despite the display of wealth, nobody is exempt from London’s strict parking restrictions – not unlike this billionaire who received a speeding ticket while driving his C8 Corvette on his own island.

He had stowed the supercars just off Cadogan Square in Knightsbridge, near the Jumeirah Tower Hotel, where he was rumored to have been staying.

The parking officer, not impressed by the gold vinyl wraps, penalized the Lamborghini with two £80 tickets ($105).

Meanwhile, the Mercedes and Bentley received one each.

However, with the Saudi royal family’s net worth in excess of $1.4 trillion – he’s probably good for it.

After gaining her BA Hons in French and English at the University of Nottingham, Amelia embarked on a vocational diploma from the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ). This led to numerous opportunities, from interning at Vogue to being on the small team that launched Women’s Health magazine in the UK, which was named the PPA Consumer magazine of the year for three years running. As Health, Beauty and Fitness editor, Amelia personally received a Johnson & Johnson Award and was shortlisted for both PPA and BSME titles. From researching the most ‘Google-able’ key terms to producing evergreen content - it’s been a time of hard work, growth, and success for the editorial team and the Supercar Blondie website. “I like to think of myself as a ‘method journalist’. In other words: I live and breathe whatever I am writing about. When writing about fitness, I trained as a personal trainer, and as a beauty editor, I completed an ‘expert’ in scent diploma with the Fragrance Foundation. “During my tenure at Supercar Blondie, however, I did something I never thought possible: I passed my driving test at the age of 36. One day I’d love to train as a mechanic to better understand what happens under the hood, too. “My sweet spot is providing readers with a ‘takeaway’ (read: something new they didn’t know before) after reading every one of my stories. While I don’t claim to be an expert in the automotive world, I know the experts and bodies in the field to rely on to provide our readers with an informative and thought-provoking story every time they visit the site.”
