Selling Sunset's Jason Oppenheim ditches his Bentley for a 'life-saving' Tesla Model Y and explains why he's buying 10 for his employees

Jason Oppenheim, of Selling Sunset fame, has ditched his Bentley for a Tesla Model Y, and he loves it so much that he’s buying 10 for his employees.

The real estate broker-turned-Netflix star has credited a particular feature as the impetus behind his change.

In a video on X, Oppenheim made the announcement while riding from Newport Beach to his Los Angeles office.

There’s nothing quite like the zeal of the convert, and Oppenheim is very much on board with Tesla.

Tesla has attracted quite a few famous faces to its brand

While some of Tesla’s lineup have proven polarizing – the Cybertruck, in case you’ve been living under a rock – there’s no doubt that the car brand has attracted its fair share of celebrity fans.

From Shaquille O’Neal to Katy Perry, there’s been a fair few household names that have been linked to the EV manufacturer.

Even Snoop Dogg is on record asking for one – albeit a freebie.

Now you can count Jason Oppenheim, from Netflix’s hit show Selling Sunset.

He’s usually talking about real estate, but this time around, it’s a car he’s touting.

And believe us when we say he’s passionate about this.

Why Jason Oppenheim switched to a Tesla

Oppenheim is undoubtedly a busy man with a lot on his agenda.

So it should come as no surprise that Tesla’s FSD technology was appealing to him, allowing him time to respond to emails.

“I’m going to be self-driving from here on out,” he declared in an X video, as his Tesla Model Y drove him to his office.

“It’s 25 times safer than the distracted driver, and I’m a distracted driver quite often, because I’m texting or checking an email or I’m on the phone.

“This self-driving technology is removing the biggest risk in my life.”

The ’25 times safer’ figure should be taken with a pinch of salt, but there are indications that FSD is safer than human drivers.

According to Tesla’s own reports, it’s 5 to 7 times safer than the average US driver.

The old Bentley he used to drive? Given to his dad.

And it’s not just Oppenheim’s father who’s getting a new car.

Jason Oppenheim made a huge promise to his employees

In his video, Oppenheim declared his intentions to get more people using self-driving Teslas.

“[FSD Supervised] is life-changing. I was on the phone with my brother last night, and I made him buy one. He literally bought one while we were talking,” Oppenheim said.

“I’m buying 10 of my employees a Tesla with FSD. It’s 8x safer than the average driver. There’s nothing more important than the safety of you and your loved ones.”

We can’t help but wonder who else in Oppenheim’s life will be receiving a Tesla in the near future.
