Shaquille O'Neal admits he 'doesn't know why' he has 40 cars

Shaquille O’Neal has admitted he ‘doesn’t know why’ he has his incredible 40 car collection.

The basketballer is a big man, both in stature and in wealth.

Having that much money means he’s been at liberty to buy five mansions and tons of cars.

But ultimately, the 52-year-old doesn’t understand why he’s accumulated all these possessions.

Why did Shaquille O’Neal have to say about spending money?

Speaking on a recent podcast episode, Shaq opened up about his spending habits.

Admittedly, with a net worth of $500 million, there’s a lot of ground to cover.

But for all of his success and his vast collection of houses and cars, he was at a loss to explain why he’d spent so freely.

He said: “I have 40 cars and I don’t know why, and I [have] got five houses, I don’t know why.”

We’re sure that’s a position many people would like to be in – pondering over the reasons you bought five mega mansions.

But the seven-foot athlete had some advice for his fans when it came to cash: “Just save. Don’t even touch it.”

Although he was in a position to afford all his possessions, Shaq admitted having so much stuff wasn’t practical.

He said it would have benefited him to be more frugal as a younger man, as reported by benzinga.

Given that he once bought three Rolls-Royces because the salesman annoyed him, it’s fair to say Shaq doesn’t fret about spending the big bucks.

What cars are in his 40-car collection?

Shaq’s car collection is very impressive, and contains customized vehicles such as this $1.5m ‘Superman’ Rolls-Royce Phantom.

That car was modified by Mansory, who added the iconic S on the car’s grille.

There’s also his ‘Frankenstein Ferrari’, which was modified to fit his huge frame.

Fitting into his cars has been a long running issue for him, but it’s not deterred him from accumulating more.

He even found himself buying a Cybertruck and a Cyberbeast, the latter as a result of a LeBron James mix-up.

There’s no disputing that this man loves his cars.
