Shaquille O’Neal certainly put himself in the running for ‘Dad of the Year’ when he bought his son two brand-new luxury cars to celebrate his 16th birthday.
If you have teenagers – or can remember being a teenager – you’ll remember what a big deal a 16th birthday is.
And Shaq, being the big personality he is, was bound to make a big deal for his son Shareef on his special day.
Getting one car on your 16th is special enough – how does two sound?

When someone’s birthday comes around, it’s nice to make them feel special.
One Floridian mom pulled out all the stops for her son when she put out a call for a ‘cool car’ to drive past the son on his big day – and a whole parade showed up.
And then this dad even went so far as to buy his one-year-old daughter a pink Rolls-Royce for her first birthday.
But Shaquille O’Neal, AKA Shaq, may well be in a league of his own in the ‘Parent gifting kids cars’ championship.
He gifted his son Shareef not one, but two luxury cars for his birthday.
A sweet 16 indeed.
And they weren’t just any cars, either – they were, in fact, a Lamborghini Gallardo and a Jeep Wrangler.
The former is a customized model featuring a vinyl wrap and a body kit that was reportedly inspired by the Lamborghini Reventon.
As for the Wrangler, this was a ‘pimped out’ version with a blue wrap, matte black accents, off-road tires, and a large LED light bar on the roof.
All of this and a party at which 400 people showed up, including rap superstar Post Malone?
Sounds like a pretty epic birthday in our books.
Celebrities can be very generous when it comes to gifting cars
When your pockets are as deep as Shaq’s, you can afford to splash some cash for a family member’s big day.
But he isn’t the only celebrity to be so generous with his money.
Dwayne Johnson is renowned for giving out cars to his nearest and dearest.
He once gave his uncle a Ford F-150 as a show of gratitude, in addition to giving his dad a $60,000 Ford Explorer.
And his generosity isn’t limited to his family either – he’s bestowed presents upon his stunt double and one man who was overcoming homelessness.
