Iconic Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche supercars line up against a Skoda family SUV for race that goes how no one expected it to

Somebody organized a drag race between a Ferrari Testarossa, a Lamborghini Countach, a Porsche 944 Turbo, and a modern Skoda EV.
And guess what happened.
The result may surprise you, but there’s still hope for the losers.
The race
Car magazine Carscoops (and Skoda UK) pitted the all-electric Elroq vRS against three icons from the 1980s: a Ferrari Testarossa, a Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary, and a Porsche 944 Turbo.
Despite being the least powerful car here, the Skoda won quite comfortably.
It managed to beat the Ferrari Testarossa by a significant margin, and the gap between the Skoda and the Lambo and especially the Porsche was even wider.
On paper, the Elroq makes 355 horsepower, while the Ferrari, Lambo, and Porsche have 385 horsepower, 449 horsepower and 247 horsepower in total.
Both the Lambo and the Ferrari can do around 300 km/h (186 mph) – give or take – while the Porsche can ‘only’ reach 261 km/h (162 mph).
But drag races are won with torque, not power, and the Skoda has more.
Not only that, it has instant torque, which is why it won so easily.
The Elroq vRS did the run in 19.19 seconds, the Ferrari Testarossa did it in 20.08 seconds, the Lambo in 21.22 seconds, and the 944 did it in 22.10 seconds.
There’s still hope for the Ferrari, the Lambo, and the Porsche
While the EV won the short-distance drag race, Carscoops noted that on a longer stretch of road, all three 1980s classics would easily catch up and pass the Elroq.
Partly because the Elroq’s top speed is limited to 111 mph, but mostly because torque fades away quite quickly after the first few miles, but also because while the Elroq is certainly agile and quick, it isn’t the fastest EV in the world.
More importantly, performance isn’t necessarily everything.
And at the end of the day, the three 1980s icon also win in another category: no one ever dreams about owning an Elroq in the same way, do they?
