A bride-to-be from South Carolina spent weeks rebuilding and restoring a vintage Porsche 356 so she could arrive at her wedding in style.

Like most brides, Caroline spent a lot of time and effort preparing for her big day.

But it wasn’t just invites, seating plans, and dress shopping – she tasked herself with rebuilding her own wedding car.

The Porsche 356 replica was in a seriously sorry state when Caroline found it, but she was committed to getting it up and running to play an important role in her big day.

Caroline and her dad James, are the pair behind the HHWheels YouTube channel and are no strangers to a rebuild project

But in preparation for her big day, the duo took on a particularly special project, taking a tired, old Porsche 356 replica and turning it into a gleaming vehicle worthy of featuring at her wedding.

The rebuild began back in October last year, when Caroline found a Porsche 356 replica – or her ‘top top dream car’, as she called it – and traded it for her VW Thing

The car wasn’t in the best shape when they got their hands on it, but the YouTubers were committed to completing a full body-off rebuild.

Getting the Porsche 356 replica wedding-ready was no easy task, but it was a real labor of love for Caroline and her husband-to-be Alex, as well as dad James.

The car enthusiasts spent weeks working on the car, repairing and rebuilding the engine, fabricating a new chassis, respraying it, and overhauling the battered and tired interiors and loved every second of it.

“This experience of getting married and celebrating that by building a car with my dad and family is something that I am so genuinely excited to share with my kids one day,” Caroline explained.

“I know I’m going to look back on this and cherish the hell out of these memories.”

Is someone chopping onions?

With just days until Caroline’s big day, the car was complete, and it looked absolutely stunning.

The made-over car had been given gleaming red and white paintwork and looked every inch the head-turning wedding car she’d hoped for.

Oh, and if you’re wondering what married life is like for the newlyweds, the day after they swapped vows, they began a restoration on this Chevrolet S-10 drag truck.
