An American woman who has been paying between $400 and $600 to park her car in a ‘Stacker Garage’ found herself unable to move her car out of its parking spot.
Frustrated TikTok user Dalal (@delshk) posted a clip on her account revealing her problem, and the video has now been viewed nearly three million times.
Dalal encountered all sorts of errors with the stacking system. The system left her car stuck as she tried to get it and go to work.
Eventually, she was able to recover her car, but the ordeal she documented appeared incredibly stressful.

The TikTok user warned others not to stack their cars
Dalal opened her video by saying: “If any of you have stacker parking in your garage or you’re looking at an apartment building that has stackers instead of a regular garage, don’t do it.”
After receiving orientation about how the system worked, Dalal encountered all sorts of error messages as she tried to recover her car.
She pointed at her car, which was ‘under this Tesla,’ but the stacking system refused to let her access it.
@delshk F parking stackers, me and my homies hate parking stackers. And now I’m late for work waiting for maintenance.

The system requires Dalal to press a key fob against a control panel, which should allow her to have her car.
However, all the system does is display a message that says: “Please close door manually.”
Even though she had opened and closed every gate around her, Dalal could not get the system to budge.
Stackers like this are mechanical platforms that lift a vehicle into a bay and stack it vertically.
The stacker system wouldn’t give Dalal access to her car
The idea is to save space and fit more cars into smaller garages.
However, it would appear that unless the system is up to scratch and well-maintained, you could encounter all sorts of weird issues.
Car stackers are only necessary in big cities, where parking space might be at a premium.
As such, some viewers of Dalal’s TikTok video hadn’t seen or heard of a stacking garage before.

Some users admitted confusion and were perplexed that such a system even existed.
One fellow TikTok user said: “I’m late for work because the garage vending machine wouldn’t give me my car’??!!!! WTH?!”
The vast majority, however, were, like Dalal, not happy with the system and its shortcomings.
The saving grace is that Dalal was able to get her car with some assistance.
But it’s very clear vertical stackers still need a lot of work.
