It’s not every day that you get to see a street-legal NASCAR race car — these kinds of road-course stock cars are so rare that you will hardly even see one online.

However, one YouTuber found the race car on sale and couldn’t resist.

It is now one of his most prized possessions, despite his attempt to get rid of it.

Rob Pitts, aka Rabbit, owns a successful used car business and is constantly looking for unique and fun cars.

One lucky day, the YouTuber found a listing for a street-legal Rusty Wallace NASCAR race car on Facebook.

At first, he didn’t think much of it until his friend who is a bad influence messaged him.

This friend tried to convince Rabbit to buy the stock car because they supposedly ‘needed’ it.

However, the YouTuber didn’t want to buy the vehicle since he had experience with race cars and knew they were money pits.

“I am into making money with cars not losing money with cars,” said Rabbit in an interview covering the story of the NASCAR race car.

Despite this, the YouTuber still messaged the owner and asked why he was selling the car.

The owner was a massive Rusty Wallace fan and had done a complete restoration of the car to restore it to its 1992 glory days.

The only reason he was selling the race car was because his wife didn’t want it around anymore.

That’s quite a common story as not all couples are equal motorheads, like this man who abandoned his Ford Maverick to prove love for his wife, then restored it post-divorce.

However, this elderly duo is the exception to the rule.

Falling in love with the race car

The YouTuber offered half of what the owner was asking for the NASCAR race car.

Eventually, he agreed and his friend went to pick it up.

As soon as he laid eyes on the race car and tried to take it for a spin, he instantly fell in love.

He tried his best to fight his instincts and told his buddies they needed to get rid of it soon.

However, they also started planning on how to upgrade it even further by calling in different tuners and mechanics.

In the end, he and his friends couldn’t resist the charm of this iconic race car.
