Picking the best app between Waze, Apple Maps, and Google Maps would probably require a UN resolution, but Alex Hirschi – Supercar Blondie herself – has a firm favorite.
All three are valid map apps.
And all three are used across the board by both Android and iOS users.
But, according to Alex, there’s one clear winner.

There’s only one app Supercar Blondie uses daily
We asked Alex Hirschi – AKA Supercar Blondie – to pick one of these three apps, and her answer couldn’t have been clearer.
It’s a neck-and-neck battle between Waze and Google, and Google came out on top.
“I use Google Maps daily”, she explained.
“I tried Waze for a bit, and I loved the user input about radars and construction and so on. But the problem was it was often wrong, and so I just went back to Google Maps.”

Having said that, Alex made it clear that Google Maps is also far from perfect.
“Google Maps isn’t great either. Sometimes it takes me on a goose chase for no reason, and I follow it thinking it knows better than me and end up cursing it because it adds an unnecessary 20 minutes to my trip”, she said.
“Then I feel stupid blindly following a program when I know very well how to get there.”

What about Apple Maps?
Most Apple products and services sell like hot cakes, but if we asked 100 random Apple users about one app that Apple could never get quite right, the answer would probably be Apple Maps.
When it was first launched, Apple Maps was a bit laggy, and even Apple ended up telling its users they might be better off with Google Maps.
Tim Cook literally wrote as much in a now-deleted open letter posted on the company’s website.
“While we’re improving Maps, you can try alternatives by downloading map apps from the App Store like Bing, MapQuest, and Waze, or use Google or Nokia maps by going to their websites,” the letter read.
It’s a lot better now, but recent polls show that iOS users still mostly use Google Maps, not Apple Maps.
