Some of the oddest-looking and experimental cars came out in the 1960s, and Supercar Blondie – also known as Alex Hirschi – got to drive the world’s most unattainable car — the second-generation Mercedes-Benz C 111.
The C 111 isn’t your average experiment with a new body design but was meant to revolutionize the internal combustion engine (ICE) era forever.
Like most other automakers at the time, it wanted to surpass what gas cars could do with its Mercedes 300 SL-inspired gullwing doors and a four-rotor Wankel engine. Since its completion in 1970, Mercedes has only built one example of this rare car, which could cost $30 million today, and has owned it ever since. The German automaker invited Alex to try it out as a chance not most would ever have.
