If you live in China, there is a trick that you can use to escape traffic and reach your destination without losing too much time.
Traffic is a problem in many areas around the world, and some traffic in Chinese cities can become incredibly backed up and congested.
But if you need to get out of these jams as soon as possible, there is, in fact, a service available that will effectively come and ‘save you’ from the jam.
It might sound like pure fantasy and fiction, but it is actually a really clever service.

How does the traffic skipping service work?
The service in China is referred to as ‘jam busting,’ and it’s a clever way to get people out of these jams, and it costs around $60.
What happens is that if you call and request it, a motorcycle is sent out to your car with two people.
To reach the stuck motorist, a pinned location is sent to the rider of the motorcycle.
The bike weaves through traffic and lane-splits, allowing it to reach whoever is stuck and needs to escape.

Once at your car, the person on the back of the motorcycle then takes over, sitting in your car.
You then hop onto the bike, and it takes you to where you need to be.
The person you swapped with would then drive your car to a location you had requested for it to be dropped off.
Potential issues with the jam-busting service
While it is a clever concept, there are a small number of issues with the service.
If you are traveling via aircraft in China or internationally and have suitcases, it could be a problem.
You are unlikely to be able to take them with you on the motorcycle.
Only a bag or small personal luggage would fit on the two-wheeled machine.
Then there’s what happens to your car afterwards.
The driver would have to somehow retrieve the keys that the second person now had.

Plus, a lot of trust is required for you to escape traffic, as there is a slight risk that the second rider might drive off with your vehicle!
There are possible safety issues, too, with weaving wildly and quickly through traffic on a bike.
But if you have an important meeting to get to, it may be that it is worth the risk to escape traffic.
