Taylor Swift may have spent $15 million overhauling her private jet to avoid people tracking it, but it only took a few days for people to find it again.

Swift has been in the spotlight before for her heavy use of the jet, with numerous people criticizing her for flying in it so frequently, given the environmental damage private aircraft cause.

To avoid constantly being tracked, Swift decided to overhaul the jet as well as change its registration.

However, she clearly didn’t reckon with the power of aviation geeks, as it didn’t take long for her private jet to be found again.

How Taylor Swift tried to hide her private jet

Despite selling her Dassault Falcon 900 in 2024, Swift still had a Dassault Falcon 7X as a private jet.

This became her main transportation, and it was heavily used during the Eras Tour.

Following this, the singer sent it to Little Rock, Arkansas, for an overhaul.

This is when she decided to try to hide the aircraft from those who followed her.

The livery of the jet was changed, and the registration number also had an update.

It was hoped this could ensure her jet was hidden away from prying eyes.

What she didn’t reckon with, however, was the power of Jack Sweeney, the college student well known for his celebrity jet tracking.

In fact, Sweeney was able to track the aircraft down pretty quickly.

This is how Sweeney found Swift’s re-registered jet

It was actually quite easy for Sweeney to find the jet again.

While the registration had changed, this isn’t just a disappearing act for an aircraft.

Paperwork needs filing, approval has to be granted, and it leaves a trail of documents ready to track.

The jet’s old registration, N621MM, still appeared in the FAA inquiry system.

That meant Sweeney could track it down again, tracing it to a maintenance facility in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Sweeney was also able to spot the new paint job on the jet.

Swift likely didn’t welcome this, especially after she and her team served him with a cease-and-desist letter in 2024.

Yet all this flight information is publicly available, and many of us can track jets on apps like FlightRadar24.

So while she might have wanted to stay hidden, it seems impossible for Taylor Swift to hide her private jet.
