Five new alleged iPhone 18 features have been revealed in a report, and the upgrades sound like Apple is going all in on smarter hardware.
A new investor claims the next Pro models could get a smaller Dynamic Island, a major camera tweak, and a fresh wave of Apple-designed chips.
It is still early days, but the details line up with other recent noise around Apple tightening up the iPhone’s design while boosting what’s under the hood.
If the leak is accurate, the iPhone 18 Pro is shaping up to be a classic ‘same look, new brains’ refresh.

The new iPhone 18 features
There have been several new Apple gadgets out recently, like the new iPhone 17 and the iPhone Air, but the iPhone 18 Pro is reportedly on its way.
First up is a smaller Dynamic Island, and the report says Apple could shrink the cutout by moving part of Face ID hardware under the display, which would free up a bit more screen space up top.
The headline camera change is a variable aperture on the main 48 megapixel Fusion camera.
In plain terms, that would let the lens control how much light hits the sensor, and it could give users more control over depth of field for photos.

How dramatic the real-world difference will be is still up for debate, since phone sensors are physically smaller than those you get in dedicated cameras.
Performance-wise, the iPhone 18 Pro is reported to get the A20 Pro chip, built on TSMC’s first-generation 2nm process.
The claim is that it should bring the usual year-over-year bump in speed and power efficiency, helped by a new packaging design too.
The new iPhone is allegedly coming in new color choices like Burgundy, Coffee, and Purple.

What the report revealed
Connectivity could be getting its own tiny glow-up.
The same report suggests Apple will move to a next-generation N2 chip for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Thread, following the N1 chip found in the current iPhone 17 range.
What the N2 will be adding is not clear yet, but Apple has been using these in-house chips to improve things like reliability for features such as Airdrop and Personal Hotspot.

Finally, the iPhone 18 Pro is expected to get an Apple-designed C2 modem, continuing the company’s push away from third-party cellular parts.
If Apple keeps iterating at this pace, the iPhone 18 Pro could end up being less about flashy complete redesigns and more about making everything faster, more efficient, and more tightly integrated.
