Did you know that there’s a hidden menu inside your Apple TV, and you can access it yourself?
Apple didn’t exactly advertise it – like most of its cool features – but tucked away inside the device is a secret screen called ‘Internal Settings’.
It is mostly aimed at developers and advanced troubleshooting rather than everyday streaming.
Still, it is a neat little trick that shows there is more going on under the hood of your Apple TV than you might think.

There’s a hidden menu inside your Apple TV
When it comes to tech giants, Apple is famous for hiding all of its best features and releasing them with very little fanfare.
The hidden screen is known as Internal Settings, and it unlocks a set of advanced options that most users never normally see.
It might change the way you stream.
Inside, you will find tabs like AppleConnect, VPN, and Configuration, which are mainly intended for developers or internal Apple tools.

For everyday users, the menu probably will not dramatically change how you watch Netflix or Apple TV+.
But it can allow access to things like VPN profile settings and configuration options, which may help if you know what you are doing with the system.
That said, it is not something you should start randomly tweaking, as changing settings without understanding them could easily cause connection or configuration issues on your Apple TV.
How to access it
If you want to see the hidden menu for yourself, it only takes a few button presses on the Apple TV remote.
First, turn on your Apple TV and open the Settings app from the home screen.
From there, scroll down and select System, then go into Software Updates.

Once you are on that screen, press the Play/Pause button four times quickly on your remote.
If you did it correctly, the app will instantly open the Internal Settings menu.
The trick has been confirmed on an Apple TV 4K running the latest software, though the feature has existed in various forms across tvOS versions for years.
Even if you never actually use the advanced tools inside it, knowing this hidden shortcut is a fun little Apple TV party trick that most people have no idea exists.
