Proving science can be pretty damn cool, this man showcased the moment he fired one of the world’s biggest lasers 10 miles into space.

While it’s become quite a legal juxtoposition in recent years, with some interference with aircraft, astronomers often fire lasers into the sky; that one Big Bang Theory episode comes to mind.

But they can be useful to gauge distances and measure ‘light years’ of certain moons and planets in our solar system, being able to travel at the speed of light.
