A Cybertruck owner has recreated the now-infamous armored glass test to see if the brute car lives up to the hype.
Since its elaborate reveal starring Elon Musk himself, the Tesla Cybertruck’s bold claims have come under some scrutiny.
Most have targeted its strength, wondering how impenetrable the car actually is, since Musk created skepticism by accidentally cracking the windows of the truck he claimed was bulletproof.
Now, one YouTuber has put their Tesla Cybertruck through its paces by recreating the window endurance test that saw glass go flying the first time.

YouTuber tries to debunk the Tesla Cybertruck Armor Glass
The Tesla Cybertruck is supposed to withstand damage at all costs, but there was a major mishap at its 2019 reveal as a demo of the bulletproof glass windows went horribly wrong.
Musk claimed there would be no damage done to the car when he threw a steel ball at the window.
But that didn’t go to plan.
The reveal saw the steel ball break the window.
While the window wasn’t completely shattered, the stunt definitely embarrassed the brand.
Since, Tesla has been trying to debunk this mishap.
Now YouTubers are stepping up to the plate too.
YouTuber and Cybertruck owner Taras Maksimuk, AKA TechRax, has re-done the test, and the results are quite surprising.
Can the Cybertruck armor glass withstand a steel ball?
First off, the creator threw a baseball at the armor glass window.
This was tested in 2023 when the Cybertruck launched, and the car withstood the pressure.
A year on, and it passed with flying colors, as both throws from the YouTuber bounced back without a blemish.
Next came the steel ball. The first throw came with ‘light-to-medium’ power and the window remained in perfect condition as the ball plummeted to the floor.
A second throw came in much harder, and again the Cybertruck swatted it away without a scratch or dent. The window did ‘wobble’, but there was no damage at all.
In fact, it was the ball that came off worse as there was a visible scratch on the steel.
After saying ‘Elon, you did it’, the creators went back for one more round with a real pitcher’s arm arc, and this time there was a difference: it left a tiny, tiny scratch.
Admittedly, the steel ball used in the 2019 test was larger, and the tester harnessed their inner Babe Ruth compared to this user’s Little League pitch.
Still, the damage is almost non-existent.
The Cybertruck has once again withstood the wrath of skeptical fans, proving that it really is one of the strongest vehicles ever made – even more powerful than a turbocharged Dodge Ram.
