California woman shares her family's honest experience of owning a Tesla Cybertruck for 19 months and 23,000 miles and explains why they're keeping it

After 19 months of Tesla Cybertruck ownership, a California woman has opened up about her experiences driving the electric truck.
Shan, the host of YouTube channel EV and Chill, had racked up more than 23,000 miles on her new Tesla.
As a family woman, this truck had become an essential part of her day-to-day life.
After nearly 19 months, it is official – they will be keeping the Cybertruck for the long haul.
Everyone has an opinion when it comes to the Cybertruck
If you’ve spent any time on the internet, you’ll know that people get very opinionated when it comes to the Tesla Cybertruck.
This silver EV brings out the strongest emotions in people.
Whether it’s being labelled a ‘Cyber-disaster’ or being declared the ‘biggest flop’ in automotive history, it’s a vehicle that has been known to evoke strong opinion.
But despite all the controversy, this is still a truck loved by many people, who swear by it as their daily driver.
One such person is California mom Shan, who hosts the EV and Chill YouTube channel.
This mom of two has an extensive driving history, having previously owned a Rivian R1T, a BMW i4, a Tesla Model Y, and a Hyundai Ioniq 5, to name but a few.
It’s fair to say she’s had a lot of experience driving different EVs.
That makes her endorsement of the Tesla Cybertruck all the more pertinent.
This California mom gave her seal of approval to the Tesla Cybertruck
It was clear how much the Cybertruck had become a part of day-to-day life or this family.
“This thing hauls our family. It hauls groceries. Looking back right here, we’ve got two car seats, a package of empty gummies, Chick-fil-A toy. You can see the soccer bag back there,” Shan explained.
“This thing, it is like basically an extension of our house.”
There was a lot for her to praise, from the Full Self-Driving technology to the durability of the exterior.
However, she did make a criticism of the automatic windshield wipers.
“The windshield wipers. That’s what burns my biscuits, grinds my gears, that’s what lives in my head, rent-free,” she said.
“I cannot express to you how frustrating it is when I’m driving and it’s a beautiful sunny day and the windshield wipers just decide to do a dry wipe.
“Rain will start. Would the windshield wipers turn on? No. Not until it’s like way late and I have to manually do it myself and then the sun comes back out. Bright sunny. Not a drop of liquid on my windshield.
“We have put a man on the moon but we cannot detect rain on a windshield properly. I don’t understand.”
As you can see, it’s been a source of frustration for her.
But on the whole, she was happy with the truck.
“This truck, honestly, it just works for our family. It works for me. I never thought I would say this, but I love driving a truck,” she said.
“Overall, this truck has been super impressive and we really love it. We don’t plan on trading it in anytime soon.”
