It’s been a while since the Tesla Cybertruck hit the roads, and you can easily find second-hand models on most platforms online.
However, a rather unusual listing popped up that said the owner was selling a Tesla Cybertruck.
The catch here was that it was a 1998 model of the 2023-launched pickup truck.
Yes, you read that right.

Georgia man was selling a 1998 Tesla Cybertruck
Someone put up a listing on Facebook Marketplace where a man from Georgia was trying to sell a 1998 Tesla Cybertruck.
As bizarre as that may be, it obviously wasn’t a real Cybertruck, so to speak.
Discovered by Rated Red, it was available for a very humble price of $5,800.
That’s certainly mere cents on the dollar, but it was a deal only in the name.
If you had clicked on the listing — or even looked at its thumbnail — you would have instantly realized that it was a pretty funny joke.
The vehicle in question here is actually a Mitsubishi L200 pickup truck that’s modified enough to pretend to be a Cybertruck.
Interestingly, a 1976 Renha Formiago pickup was recently touted as the ‘Original Cybertruck‘ — making this even more hilarious.
Moreover, a 1998 model of any Tesla vehicle can’t be real because the company didn’t even exist back then.
It began in 2008 when the automaker announced the Tesla Roadster project.
A modified Mitsubishi pickup
Real or not, this L200 pulling off a joke isn’t the worst thing to happen.
It’s certainly not as fast or as equipped as a modern-day Cybertruck, but it sure looks like it.
The L200’s 2.4-liter engine might only send out 147 horsepower, but the exterior is a fine mimic job right there.
Tesla’s controversial pickup truck is easily one of the most popular vehicles these days.
That’s exactly why several creative minds across the world came up with their own version of the pickup.
This DIY off-road Cybertruck is a prime example of just that.
Unfortunately, the listing is now removed from Facebook Marketplace at the time of writing, so your chances of getting it are likely zero.
