A Tesla Cybertruck was lined up against a Hummer for a steep hill climb.
Both are marketed as serious off-roaders that should handle rough terrain without drama.
So when they faced off on a sharp incline, it looked like a fair test.
But it didn’t quite unfold that way.

The Tesla Cybertruck climb where the Hummer stole the show
In the video, posted to Facebook by Jett Full Throttle, the Tesla Cybertruck and the Hummer sat at the base of a steep dirt hill, ready to take on the ascent.
As the attempt began, both vehicles surged forward.
However, almost immediately, the Cybertruck appeared to struggle for grip.
Its wheels started spinning early, and it couldn’t build enough momentum to carry it up the slope.

The EV made it about halfway before losing pace and having to reverse back down the hill.
There even appeared to be some kind of stall or hesitation, as if it simply couldn’t gather what it needed to finish the climb.
Instead of charging forward in the same way, however, the Hummer driver took a different approach.
To gain momentum, it turned around and attempted the climb in reverse.
It not only got further than the Cybertruck, but managed to reverse all the way up and over the top of the hill.
What was shaping up to be a straightforward test suddenly turned into an unexpected moment for the EV.

When the highlight isn’t the headline act
The Cybertruck is often positioned as a bold, capable EV that can handle tough terrain.
A steep incline like this is exactly the kind of test it’s meant to pass.
Yet in this case, the defining image isn’t the futuristic truck charging to the summit.
It’s the Hummer reversing its way to victory.

The clip ends up feeling less like a straight performance comparison and more like a reminder that off-road moments can hinge on approach as much as hardware.
What started as a climb turns into a show.
And in this round, the vehicle driving backward is the one that drives away with the spotlight.
