A Tesla Cybertruck owner from Pennsylvania reported a minor issue with his EV, but Tesla then unexpectedly replaced the entire battery pack.
Cybertruck owner Ferrara had contacted the manufacturer about the minor issue with the truck to see how they could get it fixed for him.
The issue itself was related to the wireless charger for his phone. This refused to work and was overheating his mobile phone.
However, he was surprised at what they did to fix the issue, as the issue with the electric pickup truck escalated.

What did the Cybertruck owner find wrong with his Tesla?
The issue was that the wireless charger inside the Tesla Cybertruck wouldn’t charge Ferrara’s phone.
It appeared that the phone itself was overheating, something that is a common issue with the EV.
Tesla has recently come up with a new wireless charger that solves the issue.

With that in mind, Ferrara decided to bring the car to the manufacturer and get a new charger installed.
However, what was meant to be a quick visit to the mobile service turned into five days at the service center and dealership.
Yet, as he shared on the Cybertruck Owners Club, the company decided to replace the entire battery in his truck.
The reasoning they gave him turned out to be very confusing.
The reasoning for the new battery in the truck was perplexing
According to the owner, the company said they needed the battery for an ‘engineering research initiative.’
Yet Ferrara had experienced no issues related to the battery, and with no range or charging discrepancies.
That confused Ferrara greatly, and had him worried that there had been damaged battery cells.
While he was worried, others responded to his post with full praise for Tesla’s replacement of the battery pack.

Others said they had proactive battery pack replacements from Tesla, too, even if it wasn’t needed.
If anything, replacing the battery ensures that no potential issue arises or that undetected problems do not persist.
Plus, you can relax in the knowledge that your Tesla Cybertruck is in tip-top condition.
So while it might be confusing, maybe it is a good thing to see Tesla being so proactive.
