A Cybertruck owner who has driven EVs for six years has revealed his favorite things about electric cars while questioning ‘why anyone would ever want a gas car’.

Electric cars have grown in popularity over recent years – so much so that the Tesla Model Y was the best-selling car of 2023.

But of course, there are still plenty of motorists who are less than keen at the thought of going all-electric.

Meanwhile, those who have made the change are often more than happy to sing the praises of EVs.

The Cybertruck owner questioned why anyone would buy a gas car

One such electric vehicle owner is TikTok user Joe Fay, – or @jf.okay – who regularly shares videos about his Tesla with his 3.5 million followers.

In a recent clip, he revealed some of his favorite things about getting behind the wheel of an EV.

He’s the proud owner of a Tesla Cybertruck and said convenience was one of the greatest benefits.

“After owning an EV for the past six years, I don’t know why anyone would ever want a gas car,” Fay said in the clip.

“With an electric car, I can just wake up in the morning, unplug my car and when I get inside of my vehicle for the day, it is fully charged, waiting for me.”

But that wasn’t the only reason.

He continued to heap praise on EVs

He said he was also seriously impressed by the savings, saying he could get ‘fully charged for the price of a couple of lollipops’.

He then showed that charging his Cybertruck to 92 percent overnight cost him just 51 cents.

For many EV owners, switching from filling their cars with gas to charging them with electricity seems to be a huge plus point when it comes to cutting costs.

Even if it does take a lot longer than you’d spend at your average gas pump.

However, Fay doesn’t think the fact that it takes longer to ‘fill up’ than a gas-powered vehicle is a major drawback.

“And although it takes the majority of the night to charge a big truck like the Cybertruck, what else are you doing in the middle of the night?” he said.

“You’re sleeping, so you might as well be charging for extremely cheap. Otherwise, you’re stuck going out of your way to a gas station and paying 50-plus dollars to fill up your gas car.”

He makes some very good points.
