The gap between the monthly cost of charging a Tesla Cybertruck vs filling a Ram HD in the US is nothing short of staggering

When you see the gap between the monthly cost of charging a Tesla Cybertruck and filling up a Ram HD, you’ll be nothing short of shocked.

If ever there was a EV to shake things up, the Cybertruck would be the one to do it.

It’s certainly divided opinion in the years since it’s been released, but many still vouch for it as a worthy alternative to gas guzzling trucks.

But how much does it differ in costs from one of the heavy hitters on the gas side of the equation? Let’s take a closer look.

How much does it cost to charge up the Tesla Cybertruck each month in the US?

The Tesla Cybertruck may have only been around for a few years, but it’s already made a huge impact.

Whether you love or hate it, you can’t deny that it’s unforgettable.

But looks aside, how does the Cybertruck do in the area of expenses?

In a scenario in which a owner charged 100 percent at Superchargers and drove 1,250 miles, the average monthly cost would come at around $247, according to figures from the DCFC Tracker.

If you were to shun public chargers, you would shave a lot of money and pay an average of $111 with 100 percent home charging?

A mixed model – in which a driver charges at home 90 percent of the time – is only marginally more expensive at $123.

How do the figures compare on the gas side of things?

How does the Ram HD compare?

Trucks under the Ram Heavy Duty range includes the Ram 2500 up to the Ram 5500.

Assuming an average of 1,250 miles per month, the Ram 2500 Heavy Duty would cost $526 to fuel up.

The Ram 3500 Heavy Duty would be $652, while the Ram 3500 Chassis Cab would be $709.

Prices keep ticking up along the line, with the Ram 4500 costing $816 a month, and the Ram 5500 $960.

You don’t need to be a math whizz to figure out that the Cybertruck is cheaper than all of these Ram HD variants.

There’s no end in sight for these EV-gas car comparisons

As EVs become more and more popular, more people are bound to draw up comparisons.

We have seen more EV drivers proclaiming their savings in recent years, with those who drive Teslas being particularly outspoken.

One Model 3 owner broke down the figures and threw in insurance and maintenance for good measure.

And even then, there’s competition among EV drivers about which brands are kinder on the wallet, as demonstrated when this GMC Hummer owner compared his charging costs to a neighbor’s Tesla.

Ultimately, every person needs to do their research and take everything into account before making any big decisions.
