If you’re looking to sell your Tesla for the best price possible, this YouTuber may have cracked the code on how to boost your EV’s resale value by thousands of dollars.
YouTuber @KobraToldYa recently shared a video, sharing his experience in using Recurrent’s free battery monitoring service to determine a fair price for his used Tesla Model 3.
He bought the Model 3 in 2020, and while he loved the car, his growing family meant that an upgrade was needed.

Tesla’s official trade-in offer was the lowest
After deciding to get the larger Model Y instead, he received a trade-in estimate from Tesla, valuing his car at $21,400.
However, the YouTuber describes having second thoughts about selling his car to Tesla. He’d heard rumors that the company lowballs on its estimates.

He then explored other options, such as online reseller Carvana. That site made an offer of $22,288, while reseller and price comparison site Kelley Blue Book offered him $23,220.
The YouTuber also considered used car dealership CarMax, which has physical lots as well as a digital presence. But it required that he bring the car in to receive an estimate, which he was reluctant to do.
Recurrent helped boost the value of his Tesla with a battery report
Finally, he decided to turn to Recurrent, a company that hopes to increase EV usage by making it easier to determine the health of the vehicle’s battery.
He’s worked with the company on ‘a few projects’ in the past, so he knows how they operate.
He used Recurrent to monitor his Model 3’s battery health for a while. Then the YouTuber generated a battery report and got a new estimate of $24,300 – higher than all his other offers.
The company also linked him up to reliable dealers in his area, making the experience seamless.
But then a stroke of luck happened right before he dropped his car off at a Recurrent-affiliated dealer. A dealership saw his car via Kelley Blue Book, and was willing to beat Recurrent’s offer by $200.
While he didn’t end up selling the Tesla through Recurrent, the YouTuber still emphasized the importance of having the detailed battery report, which gave him leverage to negotiate for the best resale price possible.
He also noted that with EVs, the importance of the odometer is much less pronounced. The health of the vehicle’s battery is what matters.
Important things to consider, if you’re hoping to get the best possible resale price.
