This Tesla owner revealed what he wishes he knew before making the switch to the EV brand.

Tesla is probably the world’s most recognizable EV brand and has an impressive fleet of cars.

The shift to EVs has prompted many gearheads to switch away from gas-powered cars completely.

But – as with anything – some points are useful to know before making the huge switch, as one Tesla owner found out for himself.

Electric vehicles are set to shape the future of the auto industry.

From EV pickup trucks to hybrid supercars, car brands are adapting to the new future of technology.

For instance, Chinese company Xiaomi recently dropped a vehicle to rival Tesla, and it’s not what anyone expected.

Plus, Nissan’s new N7 EV secured so many orders in China that it has set a record, which is impressive, right?

In recent years, many motorists have been making the jump from gas-powered vehicles to all-electric, but it hasn’t come without challenges.

One YouTuber, Everyday Chris, revealed what he wished he’d known before purchasing a Tesla.

Tesla’s fleet of EVs includes daily drivers like the Model 3 and a pickup known as the Cyberruck.

The vehicles have different uses and price ranges.

Chris isn’t a stranger to sharing his thoughts on EVs online either, with the YouTuber previously comparing the Cybertruck to the Model X.

Now, he’s listing some of the facts and figures he’d have preferred to have known before purchasing a Tesla for himself.

The first things that he wished he’d known included the actual price of the cars, the insurance, and the registration implications.

He says that the price on the website can change depending on what is automatically selected and discounts that you qualify for, such as the Federal Tax credit, so that’s something to bear in mind.

He also states that insurance can be expensive, and despite Tesla offering its own service, others may be better.

Next, he details that he wishes he’d known about battery range and maintenance.

Chris explained that the range on his 2021 Model Y decreased by 2025, starting at 323 miles and now ending at 279 miles, which is quite a decrease and means he has to stop more frequently to charge on road trips.

According to the YouTuber, maintenance is also something to think about too, with elements such as tires wearing quickly, thus needing to be replaced more frequently, thanks to the weight of the car.

Other elements that he wished he’d known include the amount of charging time needed, the monthly costs of the vehicles, and learning how to actually drive the cars properly.

He also shared that you should have a delivery checklist when you receive the vehicle, too, just to be on the safe side.

Take a look at the other points that Everyday Chris wishes that he’d known here.
