Tesla has finally offered a timing update for the long-awaited Roadster.
The marque has been forced to respond amid reports of customers canceling orders.
Deposits have cost scores of customers $50,000.
And the brand has finally issued a timing update for the Roadster project.

People demand deposit refunds from Tesla
You might be wondering why all of this unhappiness has been sparked recently.
Well, it’s all down to one simple reason – the Tesla Roadster still hasn’t arrived.
In case you have forgotten, allow us to refresh your memory for you.
The brand first announced the Roadster eight years ago, although the world is, of course, a very different place from how it was in 2017.
But one thing has remained the same – the EV Roadster is still nowhere in sight.
And it has led some very prominent figures in the online community to pull their support.
Marques Brownlee is the person who, in many ways, kickstarted the revolt.

The YouTuber was among the first to place a deposit with Tesla all the way back in 2017.
Having paid a $50,000 deposit, Brownlee has been waiting for almost a decade.
And he’s finally had enough, having officially requested a deposit refund.
“Tesla has been sitting with my 50 grand for eight years and hasn’t done anything with it, obviously,” Brownlee said.
Oh – and Brownlee is far from the only one to have lost patience.
Prominent UK YouTuber Mark McCann was also among the first people interested in 2017.
He placed a deposit of $5,400 back in 2017 – and documented the process of requesting his deposit back.
Is the Roadster finally on its way?
Naturally, these prominent voices have led to a domino effect of deposit reservations being canceled.
And it has forced Tesla into finally revealing a timeline for the Roadster.
Earlier this year, the brand promised ‘the most epic demo’ for the Roadster project.
That promise was made for Q4 of this year, so time is running out.

Tesla Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen confirmed the news on the Ride the Lightning podcast.
Speaking on the podcast, the marque’s Chief Designer confirmed that the display will still go ahead.
“I’m excited to showcase the Roadster for a lot of different reasons. The wait will be worth it.”
Furthermore, von Holzhausen claims that the physics of the Roadster are truly mind-bending.
Of course, it will be very interesting to see if the demo does, indeed, go ahead by the end of Q4.
