Tesla has just shattered an incredible sales record in Norway.
The Scandinavian nation is historically one of Tesla’s ‘weaker’ sales markets.
But data for car sales has just been released for the year; and it shows a fascinating trend for Norwegians.
It turns out Tesla has sold more cars in the country in a year than any other brand has… ever.

Tesla sets new sales record in Norway
Sales figures for vehicles in 2025 have just been released in Norway.
And EV giant Tesla has sold more vehicles in a single year than any other brand has in history.
This incredible feat has been spearheaded by the ever-popular Model Y.
The crossover has been remarkably popular among the people of Norway.
Tesla sales jumped 175 percent in Norway this November compared to the same month last year.

This translates to more than 6,000 new vehicles sold.
But what has prompted the spike in sales?
It turns out that the Norwegian government currently has EV tax subsidies.
But these subsidies are set to end soon – much like those in the US that ended in September.
It has been suggested that customers are racing to take advantage of the subsidies before they end.
Because, when these end, they will effectively constitute a tax hike on EVs.
Last month, fully electric vehicles reportedly made up 97.6 percent of all new cars sold in Norway.
BYD is hot on Tesla’s tail
Tesla hasn’t seen the same success right across Europe.
In fact, it’s seen declining sales across France, Denmark and Sweden.
The brand is also getting outsold in the UK by Chinese behemoth BYD.

As you’ve probably worked out, this is kind of a problem for Tesla.
Because Europe is the brand’s third-largest market for its EVs.
Only the US and China are bigger in terms of sales.
Tesla will be firmly glad to see the back of 2025.
