Tesla might be the most well-known name in the car world at the moment.

The American EV manufacturer has revolutionized the vehicle landscape.

With almost $98 billion in revenue in 2024, Tesla is set to go from strength to strength.

So what lies in the future for the forward-thinking EV brand?

Tesla Model 2 does not appear to be coming

In a 2018 interview, Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, was asked about the possibility of an affordable, entry-level Tesla.

Ideally, he was asked about the possibility of a sub-$25,000 model.

In the interview, Musk remarked: “A $25,000 car – that’s something we can do.”

Naturally, there was a lot of intrigue and excitement following this announcement.

For years, it has been expected that Tesla could dominate the budget hatchback market.

However, news sources in China appear to have confirmed that that will not be happening.

Stripped-down Model Y to fill the void?

Instead, it appears that the budget-friendly offering will instead be a stripped-down Model Y.

Reports suggest that it will be manufactured in Shanghai and be called the CyberCab.

This new CyberCab is reported to be roughly 20 percent cheaper to build than the Model Y Juniper.

It is being reported that this CyberCab may come without a steering wheel or pedals.

Naturally, this comes with a lot of complex legal and regulatory issues.

Specifically, the CyberCab would have to pass a lot of stringent tests before being allowed on the roads.

However, if anyone can do it, Tesla has proven that it’s them.

Future of American firm in 2025 and beyond

Because the brand has solidified itself as EV leaders, the future of the firm looks bright.

The American firm is set to release cars with unsupervised driving in June.

The release of these cars is reported to be happening in Austin, Texas.

Furthermore, the overall range, despite competition, continues to perform strongly.

For example, the Cybertruck, amidst scepticism, has massively outperformed expectations.

In addition, the rest of the EV range continues to be seen as the standard bearer.

All in all, if there’s one brand to expect growth from, it’s Tesla.
