The brand-new Lucid Gravity X is an off-roader that is the lovechild of America’s top EV startups, and the joint effort has forged one behemoth machine.
The Lucid Gravity SUV is already an impressive beast.
But while it’s usually a road-abiding long-haul comfort blanket, the typically audacious minds at Lucid have decided to up the ante and take it off-road.
Introducing the Lucid Gravity X.

Lucid Gravity X revealed as a leader in EV off-roading
Since its conception, Lucid has always seen itself as a major American rival to Tesla, even marking itself as an ‘upgrade’ in the EV world. The Porsche to your BMW, for example.
But 2025 appears to be the year of the Lucid trips, as the impressive electric vehicles appear to have cracked the code for long-range drives.
Having just set the record for the longest single-charge journey with the Air GT, the brand has even been showing inexplicable speeds with its SUV, beating a Lambo and a Porsche in a quarter-mile sprint.
Now, the zesty Lucid Gravity SUV has been given a bigger boost with a new model, as the X version has been revealed at Monterey Car Week.

Having already made an SUV with over 1,000HP with the Dream Edition, the Lucid Gravity X tones the power down slightly to a measly 828HP (the same as a Ferrari 812 Competizione).
But taking the Grand Touring base model, it adds a lifted ride height, wider track, off-road tires, skid plates, customized bumpers, integrated tow hooks, and a roof rack with LED spotlights to transform itself into a prime off-roader.
Greatest minds think alike
It’s been a race to make luxury EV SUVs this year, especially as the threat from China and the fanatical reaction to the Xiaomi YU7 have left American executives quaking in their boots.
Lucid seems to have hit the nail on the head, though, and it comes as no surprise when the great minds from Tesla and Atieva, bankrolled by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and residing in Arizona, get together.

Having shifted focus from being an advanced battery and electric powertrain supplier to a fully-fledged EV master, the Lucid Gravity X is the pinnacle of what can be achieved by this ambitious company.
