This Mercedes 300SL Tesla is a beauty, but it’ll cost you a pretty penny.

To look at this car, you might think it was a Mercedes 300SL into which a zero-emission engine had been placed.

However, it’s a slightly unusual Tesla Model 3.

How this Tesla-Mercedes dream came to life

The product was made by S-Klub LA, a workshop based in Southern California.

Their passion is taking sports cars and modifying their bodywork to give them an unique twist.

In this case, the Model 3 has had a replica Mercedes 300SL built around it.

The bodywork was redone from scratch in fibreglass.

So, from the outside, it’s entirely Mercedes – complete with the Gull Wing and Italian leather.

But inside, the car has the Model 3 coloring of cyan blue.

It’s a perfect blend of the two iconic brands, with a Mercedes three point star front and centre on the car’s grille, and a Tesla T proudly displayed on the steering wheel.

Like a standard Tesla car, there is a option for self driving.

If this sounds like your dream car, you better be ready to pay a hefty deposit as it’d set you back $1.6 million.

Car lovers have ultimately been left divided on the project and voiced their opinions online.

One fan commented: “That is one beautiful car.”

Another said: “It’s really beautiful, and this is the way to go to move forward in the future whilst harking back to retro times.”

However, the love wasn’t universally felt and some people weren’t counting themselves as fans.

One critic said: “This is an abomination, shield your eyes.”

“No no no…why on earth would you ruin this beautiful gullwing? That thing is hideous!” another lamented.

One man said it best when he commented: “This car is causing arguments.”

Whether you love or hate it, this car is bound to get your attention – and generate conversation.
