Tom Cruise flew into the Olympics closing ceremony in wild fashion

Tom Cruise did its own thing once again, this time skydiving above the crowds as part of the Olympics closing ceremony.

The Hollywood A-lister and daredevil, who clearly didn’t get the memo that he’s 62 years old, was picked by the Olympics for this stunt for a very simple reason.

The next event is going to be held in Los Angeles, in 2028.

Tom Cruise was chosen as a poster boy to represent the symbolic transition between this year’s Olympics in Paris, and the next Olympics in Los Angeles.

His 160-foot descent on a motorcycle set the stage for the countdown to the Los Angeles Games in 2028.

Tom Cruise is in his comfort zone with this sort of thing.

The ‘last Hollywood icon’

Tom Cruise has sometimes been referred to as one of the last Hollywood icons because some believe he epitomizes the way Hollywood used to be.

Cruise is one of the few A-listers who completely shun OTT streaming services.

For Top Gun: Maverick, the movie producers were pressuring him to greenlight a potential release via a streaming service due to the pandemic but Cruise stood his ground.

Cruise believed it would pay off to wait for a potential release window in theaters, and he was right.

The movie grossed nearly $1.5 billion and Cruise himself walked home with a cool $100 million.

Tom Cruise still does his own stunts

Tom Cruise still famously does most of his own stunts.

For the upcoming part II of the Mission: Impossible finale, Cruise was seen hanging upside down from a plane, which is a normal day at the office for him.

For part I of said movie, Tom Cruise did what some people called the ‘biggest stunt in Hollywood history‘.

We’ll see what he’ll come up with for the upcoming Olympics in Los Angeles.
