Toyota’s latest launch is about to be a baby Land Cruiser FJ.

Toyota Motor Corporation has just thrown the covers off of its latest offering.

This is the Land Cruiser FJ, and it packs old school looks and off-road capability.

And it is set to be launched in mid-2026.

Toyota’s latest reveal – a brand-new SUV addition

Toyota has just revealed its newest addition to its SUV line-up.

The Toyota Motor Corporation is presenting a brand-new, much smaller, Land Cruiser.

This baby Land Cruiser is called the FJ – and it is very unique.

Toyota’s aim with the FJ is to provide customisable off-road capability.

Japan’s leading automaker plans to launch the model in Japan sometime in mid-2026.

But the FJ itself will make its maiden public appearance at Japan Mobility Show 2025 from October 30 at Tokyo Big Sight.

New Land Cruiser FJ to serve a different purpose

The FJ is set to become the fourth distinct series in the Land Cruiser line-up.

It will join the 300 Series flagship, the 70 Series heavy-duty workhorse, and the 250 Series introduced in 2024.

This model is set to feature a wheelbase that is 270mm shorter than the 250 series.

The exterior design is, according to the brand, a ‘dice motif’ with a squared cabin silhouette.

And it’s aimed at a very specific type of buyer.

For one thing, the FJ is not aimed at the typical, traditional Land Cruiser market.

It is aimed, instead, at recreational off-road users.

What is interesting is that Toyota will offer customization options throughout the model’s lifecycle.

Round headlights referencing older Land Cruiser generations is set to be one such option.

MOLLE panels for mounting outdoor equipment are also set to be another.

But the biggest option is set to be the Land Hopper, an electric personal mobility vehicle designed to fit in the cargo area.

This scooter-type device is  for use on trails beyond where the vehicle can travel, though no launch date has been set for this accessory.
