If you ever fancied a new supercar with your McDonald’s Happy Meal, then you can now get a Toyota GR GT3 in a wild collab, albeit one on a slightly smaller scale.

Toyota Gazoo Racing and McDonald’s have partnered up to provide something similar to a Gashapon toy, which are small toys dispensed from machines in Japan.

Along with Tomica, a model of the Toyota GR GT3 is now available in Happy Meals exclusively in McDonald’s stores in Japan, thanks to Toyota Gazoo Racing.

While the GR GT3 grabs the headlines, it isn’t the only toy being made available to customers.

What the Toyota GR GT3 and McDonald’s collaboration is offering

The Japanese manufacturer released a promotional video for the new Happy Meal toys on its YouTube channel.

It revealed that if you buy a McDonald’s Happy Meal, you can get a Toyota GR GT3 die-cast car from Tomica.

This is the legendary Japanese brand famous for die-cast models, similar to those from Hot Wheels.

Gazoo Racing is, of course, the racing division of the Japanese manufacturer.

“The GR GT3 will be featured in McDonald’s Tomica Happy Meal lineup,” said Gazoo Racing.

“Each Happy Meal comes with one toy at random from a total of four car models, including the GR GT3,” they added.

McDonald’s and Toyota have said the car was available from April 10th in the meals.

Plus, another secret model will be made available from May 7th.

Not every meal will include the GR GT3, but that’s part of the fun of buying the meals.

The die-cast model is an exact scale replica of the car used in various GT racing series.

Yet it isn’t the only die-cast you can collect from Japanese Happy Meals.

This is what else you could get in one of the meals

Alongside the Toyota GR GT3, McDonald’s says other cars are being made available.

A Nissan Skyline police car and a Hino fire truck are just two of the models in the release.

The Toyota TownAce transporting a giant hamburger is also on the way.

The models will be rotated around, giving everyone a fair chance of winning them all.

For the secret car, it could be the golden McDonald’s-themed race car used in the promotional video.

“The lineup will change from April 24th to May 7th, with four new car models and one random Happy Meal included in the total of five car models, including one secret toy,” said Toyota Gazoo Racing.

Usually, toys like this are obtained from Gashapon machines, gumball-style toy dispensers.

But, according to McDonald’s website in Japan, some stores have already stopped selling the sets due to demand.

It would appear that this collaboration has been a major hit already.

So it is likely that we could see more of them in the future.
