Man drives truck thousands of miles from Saudi Arabia to Norway to see the northern lights

One man has taken his Toyota Hilux truck thousands of miles, from Saudi Arabia to Norway, all in a bid to hunt for one of the most surreal skylines known to man.

Saudi Arabia, known as ‘the Kingdom’, is littered with some of the finest skylines in the world, with the sunset dipping over the sand dunes kissing luxury skyscraper tops on its way down.

But one man has decided that he wants to trade the golden beaches for pearl-white snowcapped mountains in Norway.

In a cross-continent journey across thousands of miles, it was all in a bid to see the Northern Lights.

Traveling the world in search of the Northern Lights

Sometimes, it’s easy to forget that outside of the four walls of your home, there’s an entire globe of different scenery and cultures to explore.

Thankfully, there’s a tool sitting on the driveway that can transport you anywhere you’d like to visit.

Taking this ethos and running with it, one man from Saudi Arabia has decided to jump in his Toyota Hilux and travel thousands of miles to Norway.

Malik Alsultan has been documenting his journey on social media, where he’s spent a lot of time in Norway after making it through countries like Turkey, Hungary, Czechia, Germany, and Denmark.

But seeing the Northern Lights, his ultimate goal, doesn’t always appear.

In fact, they only really show between October and March, and need clear skies with no bad weather. Currently, Earth is near a solar maximum, which heightens the chances of seeing them, though.

His first posts in the country showcased long cabins and chilly yet grassy mountain areas, before the snow began to set in.

Now, in the peak of winter, he’s finally documented the Northern lights in all their glory.

The most recent posts on his journey have revealed the Saudi native and his plucky Japanese truck observing the gorgeous illuminations dancing through the sky.

It’s certainly a much different skyline than the sunsets in Saudi Arabia, and it’s all thanks to his reliable truck.

All backed by a ‘smooth’ and trusted Toyota Hilux

Taking to Instagram, the user praised his Toyota Hilux, claiming that the trip was a breeze thanks to its comfort and resilience, no matter the weather.

“The Hilux honestly made the trip way smoother than I expected. Long roads, cold weather, no issues… and the Northern Lights were totally worth it.”

Others quickly jumped on the Toyota hype and claimed it’s the perfect advert for their trusted fleet of trucks.

“Toyota would be very proud of this advertisement lol,” one comment read.

“This has got to be the best Toyota ad,” another joked

From being beached in the desert sands to skating on the snow in Norway, the Toyota is the real main character here.
