A tuned Lamborghini Urus went head-to-head against a stock Ferrari Purosangue in an SUV drag race, and it had a dramatic conclusion.

The two performance SUVs are some of the most powerful on the market, and the pair went up against each other at an airfield in Germany.

German YouTuber and former Formula E driver Daniel Abt staged the drag race, and it threw up an interesting result at the end of it.

The two cars come from Italy’s biggest car manufacturers, so naturally, it was always going to be a hotly contested showdown.

How did the SUV pair stack up against each other?

Under the hood of the Ferrari is a 6.5-liter V12 that produces 715HP, as well as a glorious soundtrack.

The Urus, meanwhile, is an ABT Urus Scatenato, tuned significantly to produce incredible power.

Under the Lamborghini’s hood is a 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 engine that makes 840HP, a huge jump over the Ferrari.

The ABT Lamborghini is a very rare, limited edition, designed to push the Urus to its absolute limits.

Given how the drag race unfolded, it’s clear the SUV has had some serious work put into it.

But the Ferrari Purosangue has impressed many critics since it was launched.

So would the Urus be able to topple the new kid on the block?

With all that extra power under the hood, it is perhaps easy to work out how the race went.

Daniel Abt drove the Urus, and it flew off the line and away from the Ferrari.

The extra 100+HP from the Urus really came into its own.

The YouTuber and his team re-ran the drag race to see if the Ferrari could get closer.

However, the second time around, there was no hope again for the Purosangue.

It must be stressed that this is a Tuned Lamborghini Urus, so the results could be much closer with a standard version.

However, it is still very impressive to see how much extra power the tuning package has given the SUV.

Even more impressive is the super-fast 10.60-second time across the quarter-mile!
