Police in Turkey have turned 23 seized exotic supercars into the most luxury fleet of cop cars ever.
These seized vehicles are worth $3.5 million in total, and they certainly look good donning the police branding.
Among the haul is cars from Ferrari, Bentley, and Porsche.
Could this be the world’s fanciest police fleet? The competition is certainly tough, but we reckon this police force has a good shot at the top spot.
We’ve seen some high-end police forces before
When it comes to cop cars, we think we know what to expect – black and white livery, and a flashing light on top.
But more and more police forces are defying expectations and going down a fancier route with their cars.
In Italy, a Lamborghini has been deployed for organ transportation, while police in Florida have added a McLaren 720S to their line-up.
But undoubtedly, the Dubai police are the fanciest when it comes to their cars.
Included among their cars is an ultra-rare Ferrari Purosangue and a customized Lamborghini Revuelto, courtesy of Mansory.
They have an impressive array of cars at their disposal, there’s no doubt about that.
But if one looks 1,882 miles north of Dubai, they’ll find a police force that would give them some stiff competition on the cars front.
How this Turkish police force added $3.5 million worth of exotic supercars to its ranks
Ali Yerlikaya, Turkey’s interior minister, made a post on X announcing several new additions to the Istanbul Police Force.
“From the very first day we took office, you have always heard this phrase from us: Turkey’s Peace,” he wrote.
“As a result of the successful operations carried out by our Istanbul Police Department against organized crime groups, 23 vehicles were seized.
“By court decision, these vehicles were also handed over to our police force. From now on, these vehicles will no longer serve criminal organizations; they will be at the disposal of our police and in the service of our Nation!”
The vehicles in question came from an alleged drug trafficker Hakan Ayik.
With an estimated fortune of $1 billion, the suspect has been described as ‘Australia’s most wanted man’ due to his decades-long criminal career.
Upon his arrest, 23 cars were seized and turned into cop cars.
What exotic supercars are included in this seizure?
With a total worth of $3.5 million, you can expect some heavy hitters to show up in this collection.
There are luxury SUVs like a Range Rover Sport and a Mercedes-Benz GLS, alongside performance cars like the Porsche Taycan and Volkswagen Golf R.
Among the more expensive offerings was a Ferrari 458 and a Bentley Continental.
Whether or not this trumps Dubai’s police force is a matter of opinion.
But they both look stylish when it comes to fighting crime, and that’s what counts, right?
