This UK YouTuber has owned a Tesla Cybertruck for nearly two years, and he’s basically never been able to drive it.
But that’s not the most shocking part here.
Because what’s truly surprising is that he somehow managed to ‘hide away’ from his family for two whole years.
And his daughter indirectly gave him a piece of advice about the truck, considering it’s illegal to drive.
The (many) reasons why Cybertruck isn’t street-legal in Europe and the UK
The Tesla Cybertruck isn’t available in Europe and the UK, and it’ll likely never be sold on that side of the Pond.
Not only that, it’s clearly difficult to import, too.
There are two main reasons.
First, the truck’s sharp angles don’t pass muster with the EU’s strict pedestrian regulations.
Second, the vehicle’s steer-by-wire system is surprisingly problematic.

With steer-by-wire, the steering wheel isn’t physically connected to the wheels, only digitally.
To be clear, steer-by-wire isn’t illegal in the EU and the UK, but the one used in the Cybertruck is US-spec, and that doesn’t make regulators happy because it hasn’t been certified through the specific European audit process.
Mark McCann, one of the few people in the UK who owns one, had to find that out the hard way.
Considering he can’t drive it, his daughter had an idea
YouTuber Mark McCann is one of the few Cybertruck owners in the UK and Europe in general.
Unfortunately for him, that’s not exactly a car he can drive every day, for the reasons we mentioned earlier.
Having said that, it was still interesting to find out that apparently McCann’s wife and daughter had never seen the truck in two years.
McCann owns several different vehicles and keeps them in separate garages, but that was still pretty unusual.
Their reaction was priceless, though.

“Look at that fat wheel,” his daughter said in the video.
“It’s massive. Isn’t it? You could literally put a double mattress in [the truck bed] – Don’t you think it’s amazing?”
Considering the truck is still illegal in the UK, you might as well convert it into an Airbnb or something.
