A garage crew has found an ultra-rare 1934 Ford Sedan Delivery sitting in a barn in the middle of Richmond, Virginia in the US.

The car was part of a larger collection sold by an aging owner.

It had been parked since 1973 and still retains many of its original components.

Although the car was retired over 50 years old, it is in quite good condition.

Ultra-rare 1934 Ford Sedan Delivery found

Found by the folks over at IronTrap Garage on YouTube, the 1934 Ford Sedan Delivery had been stored in a dry garage.

Due to that, the car was preserved for a long time and emerged without any major problems.

If you think about it the 1934 Ford Sedan Delivery is almost 100 years old, 50 of which were spent being stuck in a garage.

Other than that it still retains many of its original components.

The only difference is that the flat gray paint is not original but it may still exist under the finish.

Vintage and classic cars like these are not easy to maintain, so it is quite a testament that this Ford has stood the test of time.

Mysterious parts

Although it is a 1934 Ford Sedan Delivery, the dashboard and door panels of the car are from the 1933 model-year version.

As for the engine, the car features a 221-cubic-inch ‘Flathead’ V8 under the butterfly-style hood.

However, there’s no way of knowing whether it’s an original or not.

The main reason this barn find is so rare is that only 9,021 customers ordered the Ford Sedan Delivery.

Plus, it was mainly used commercially so not many of them have lasted this long.

The only way to preserve old classic cars is to store them in a place away from water and other elements.

One way to do that is through climate-controlled ‘car capsules’ that seal the car.
