This guy visited one the largest US Air Force museums in the country, in Ohio, to have a closer look at Air Force One.
Unlike the presidential limo, Air Force One aircraft are often preserved and put on display.
But, as you can see from the images, there are quite a few ifs and buts.
And there’s a reason why the plane ‘survives’ while the car doesn’t.
There is one specific Air Force One aircraft that anyone can go and explore
A YouTuber who goes by Zach on the Map visited the National Museum of the US Air Force in Dayton, Ohio, to check out a few Air Force Ones that anyone can go and explore
The museum is not only the largest in Ohio, but it is one of the largest aviation museums in the world, and it is home to several US Air Force aircraft, and the Boeing 707 VC-137C SAM 26000, which was used by President John F. Kennedy and was the first jet aircraft built specifically for presidential use.
But there are a few caveats.

First, not every corner of the aircraft is on display, and everything – literally everything, even the walls and windows – is protected by glass cases.
This is probably because they don’t want anybody to touch, damage, or steal anything.
The second thing that stands out is the size.

In the clip, the YouTuber just keeps on walking forever in an aircraft that looks like it’s miles long.
This Air Force One came with several different compartments.
You had a high-tech communications center at the front, a dedicated stateroom and lounge for the president in the middle, and, unlike today’s massive Air Force One, it didn’t have a private bedroom or a medical suite.

The reason why these aircraft are on display and not destroyed
When The Beast appeared in an episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, US Secret Service agents told Leno in no uncertain terms that modern presidential limos are destroyed when they’re retired.
They aren’t parked in a museum, they aren’t repurposed – nope – they’re completely crushed.

They explained that that’s simply the safest way to dispose of them without giving away their safety features.
By contrast, Air Force One aircraft almost never get destroyed.

They generally undergo a very specialized restoration process, through which the plane is gutted for parts that can be reused, and for parts that have to be stored away or destroyed.
Once that’s done, what you’re left with is an empty shell with nothing but presidential-like interior, a stunning livery, and no secrets to give away.
