In a bid to rid car trips and job shifts of boring layovers, this man from Utah has taken his Chevy 3500 truck and turned it into a gamer’s haven with the addition of Nintendo 64 Super Smash Bros.
Long road trips can be quite a bore, sometimes. There are only a number of scenic Utah views that one person can take in.
So, why not take a gaming console on the road to pass the time?
Well, that’s the spirit that this man has harnessed, as he took a classic 1990s Nintendo 64 and chopped it into his Chevy 3500 truck to enjoy some Smash Bros. on the go.

Infotainment systems are advancing to be much more eloquent than the ones we’re used to traveling with – the selection of Music on those Ryanair flights is rather mundane.
But cars are moving with the times, and even incorporating new systems into passenger dashboards that allow for safe movie watching and even gaming.
Now, one man from Utah has upped the tech ante and installed the iconic Nintendo 64 console into his Chevy 3500.
Eric Bishop, of Salt Lake Valley, revealed in a Facebook post that his Chevy 3500 was rigged up with an old Nintendo 64 console, replacing the typical CD player.

The avid gamer and his co-worker would often take breaks in parking lots and drop the foldaway screen down to go toe-to-toe in Super Smash Bros. melees.
“Cut up a 64 and threw it in my work van about a decade ago,” Bishop said.
“Good memories.”
The late ’90s Nintendo 64 was one of the most-loved consoles from the fabled Japanese gaming legends, introducing classic games such as Super Smash Bros., The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (recently remastered for the Switch), and Mario Kart 64.
Smash Bros. and Pokémon, the road trip maestros
It wouldn’t be the first time that someone has rigged up their vehicle with elite and nostalgic gaming set-ups, as one road user turned their car into an Xbox paradise.

Bishop revealed that the van has now been auctioned off as he was relieved of his job, but continues to have a passion for gaming, especially Nintendo titles like Mario and Pokémon.
This is definitely a change of pace from the old-school Nintendo on-the-go gaming which included taming Nintendogs on the DS, evolving your favorite fiery Pokémon into a voracious Charizard on the Gameboy Color, or more recently drifting through Rainbow Road on the Switch.
Other gamers have taken their love for Mario even further. One YouTuber has gone through the trouble of making his own Mario Kart green shells.
