When Westen Champlin gave away a free Cobra Mustang to the first stranger he came across, the man had a hilarious reaction.

If you were approached by a man asking if you were mechanically inclined, would you follow him for a free car?

That’s what this man did when Kansas YouTuber Westen Champlin came across him.

Sure, the man had a healthy amount of skepticism, but he still followed Champlin for the promised car.

Westen Champlin offered up this Cobra Mustang to a stranger – and he was true to his word

If there’s one thing you need to know about Westen Champlin, it’s to expect the unexpected.

He’s always doing something outlandish with a car, like the time he created a ‘backwards truck’.

And then there was the time he turbocharged a school bus get bought from Facebook Marketplace.

Random is always the flavor of the day with him.

This time around, he was looking to offload a Cobra Mustang on any willing stranger he came across.

Motor problems had pushed Champlin to give up ‘Doug’, and he was going to give it away to the first stranger he came across.

This man, who was named John, was understandably suspicious of this offer, which reeked of ‘too good to be true’.

“Are you bulls****ing me?” he asked Champlin.

Despite his reasonable doubts, John followed the YouTuber up the road, where the Mustang was sitting waiting for him.

It was there that Champlin handed over the keys and the title.

We bet John wasn’t expecting to come home with a whole new car when he walked out of his front door that morning.

A free car is great – but they often come with strings attached

No matter how you slice it, a free car is a great thing to have.

Whether it’s won on a game show or gifted due to celebrity status, it must be a great feeling to drive away without feeling financially depleted.

But these freebies rarely come without strings attached.

For one man, he was only going to get his free Mercedes GL450 if he fixed the car – something two mechanics before him had tried and failed to do.

And that’s nothing compared to the baggage that came with the free cars given away by Oprah back in 2004.
