After being passed down through the generations, this woman’s 1971 Plymouth Barracuda carries decades of memories.
While cars aren’t usually like pets that become part of the family, some people value their vehicles more than an in-law or a cousin.
In this particular case, one dusty banger has been a mainstay in their household for generations.
Fifty years later and this Plymouth Barracuda is still an integral part of the family dynamic.

Heartwarming story of Plymouth Barracuda being a family member
Unfortunately for old American muscle cars such as the Plymouth Barracuda, their legacies often result in being discarded, abandoned, or scrapped.
However, this story – reported by Motorious – saw one 1971 Plymouth Barracuda passed down a generation to keep the memories in the family.
As a time capsule for 28 annual trips to the Carlisle Car Show in Pennsylvania, among many other cherished memories, Tanya inherited the car from her mother and reveals that the vehicle personifies everything about her parent.

“In this car, I see my mother’s smile, I hear her laughter, and I feel her love,” she said in a YouTube blog from Lou Costabile.
“Every time I turn the ignition, I’m reminded of the beautiful times we shared, and I feel closer to her. The ‘Cuda isn’t just a piece of metal; it’s a part of our family history.”
Her 1971 Plymouth Barracuda is the same car that her car seat was placed in as she was growing up.
Boasting the ‘Cuda-only 383 V8 engine, this fine vehicle has over 96,000 miles of cherished love and memories behind the wheel.

Pennsylvania appears to be the place to be to get hold of these iconic cars, as one man found three black Plymouth Barracuda beasts hidden away in a backyard barn collection.
Behind every ‘Cuda is a brilliant story, and Tanya’s is just as heartwarming than any other out there.
On the flip side, if heritage, history, glitz, glamour, and racing sound more your speed, Lando Norris’ custom-made McLaren Papaya-hued Plymouth Barracuda might be more for your liking.
