Amike Oosthuizen is a woman who’s spent nearly an entire year on a cruise ship, and she has something to say about her journey on the world’s longest cruise.

She traveled the world aboard the ship, spending 274 days at sea.

The all-inclusive cruise wasn’t cheap, but Amike says at the end of the day you could call it good value.

And she believes that for a very simple reason.

The world’s longest cruise

Amike’s home on the ship for 274 days was a relatively small apartment, or perhaps we should say cabin.

The cost of the trip included just about anything she wanted on board, including bottomless food and drinks, and of course she could explore every destination the journey took her to.

All in all, Amike says she spent around $73,000.

That works out at around $8,100 per month.

She still says it was worth it, if one can afford it.

She says that if you wanted to travel to the same places, eat the same high-quality food and go to the same high-end restaurants she has access to on the ship, you’d end up spending the same amount of cash, if not more.

The growing appetite for long cruise voyages

There’s definitely a growing appetite for this type of voyage.

Travelers used to go on a cruise for the summer but nowadays, people choose to literally live on one.

A Meta employee recently bought a six-figure apartment on a ship, because he believes it was a better investment than buying one on land.

And then there’s the world’s largest cruise ship, which set sail earlier this year, and is the size of a town.

With so many people working remotely these days, this trend is probably only going to grow.
