Welcome to the hottest place to be in China – the Xiaomi SU7 factory. Tesla’s Gigafactories are nothing compared to this tourist hotspot.
Do you want a factory tour of this prestigious location? Too bad, because tickets are almost impossible to obtain and cost $280 per person.
The tours are meticulously planned and timed, like a beautifully choreographed ballet and speaking of ballet, there’s the chance to lay your eyes on the dance of over 700 robots.
It seems wild that a simple car factory tour could be 2025’s hottest tourist ticket, but when you see what Xiaomi has on offer, you’ll understand.

Forget Disneyland or Tesla’s gigafactories
If you’re travelling to China, you just have to visit the Great Wall or Hong Kong Disneyland, or what about the Summer Palace?
However, 2025 has seen the rise of a new state-of-the-art tourist destination that literally no-one could’ve predicted would have become a place for tourists and gearheads alike – the Xiaomi SU7 factory.
Tour tickets used to be complimentary, but now are going for $280 each and sometimes even more, that’s more than the price of an off-season day trip to Disneyland.

Even though we’ve seen how cool the Tesla gigafactories are, this Xiaomi SU7 factory is on a completely elevated level.
What makes the Xiaomi SU7 factory in China so much better than Tesla?
The thing that makes the Xiaomi SU7 factory tour stand out from others is that it is so exclusive. Each tour can only accommodate 20 people, which makes the ticket price for exclusivity make slightly more sense.
On the tour you get to spend 40 minutes in a innovative and state-of-the-art exhibition hall and take in the vast 700,000 square meter factory.

You also get a chance to see the cars being made by a team of over 700 robots, which are so speedy, they produce a completed vehicle every 76 seconds.
All of the robots are assisted by only around 100 human workers, so this really makes it the factory of the future.
In addition to the exhibition hall and robot performance, you also get the opportunity to participate in test drives of the SU7, making the tour fully immersive.

Factory tours for Tesla are only available to shareholder’s and aren’t open to the public the same way Xiaomi’s are, they also don’t have an immersive tour experience, making this a real treat for automotive lovers.
Who knew that the company that created the relatively cheap Chinese smartphones of the 2010’s would have such a handle on the tourism in China and that be rivalling Tesla’s gigafactories?
That being said, where’s our ticket?
