This YouTuber couldn’t believe his luck when he heard there was an abandoned Audi R8 sports car in fairly decent condition in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
When he got the news, he had to see it to believe it.
So he jumped straight on the road to check it out.
When he arrived to find the car on the side of the highway, there were even more surprises.

YouTuber rushed to find abandoned Audi R8 V8
YouTuber Steve Currington – AKA ‘Lambro Steve’ – shared his discovery in a video from 2019 on his YouTube channel.
As is evident from his preferred moniker, he’s obviously a Lambo guy.
So, it’s understandable he was a fan of the Audi too.
Currington said he initially thought the R8 had a V10 powerplant — which it turns out it didn’t.
This sports car turned out to be a slightly older example that Audi shipped V8 engines with.
Assuming it had a 4.2-liter V8, it was still fast, likely capable of producing around 450 horsepower.
That’s certainly a lot of horses on an abandoned car.
What was it doing there?
The Audi R8 only appeared to have been on the side of the highway for a matter of hours or days.
So, to Currington’s surprise, it was still in pristine condition for a car he was told was ‘abandoned’.
Had it been stranded for longer, like this R8 that was transformed after being abandoned for five years, it would have looked a lot more rugged.
It likely ran into some mechanical troubles and was left on the side of the road while the owner organized a tow truck.
We can only hope it wasn’t left to the elements for too long.
Finding an R8 might not have been a big deal five years ago, but it is today.
After all, the final Audi R8 left the factory earlier this year, marking the end of an era.
