YouTuber gives honest review on 250k miles 2019 Ram 1500

This truck expert drove a 2019 Ram 1500 for 250,000 miles before deciding he had a lot to get off his chest.

Now, racking up that many miles doesn’t often translate into being a dissatisfied customer.

But who’s to say that we can’t find room for improvement, huh?

Justin Wheeler, the host of YouTube channel Truck Central, has been pushing the truck to its limits since 2019 and he has a lot to say about its performance.

How did the 2019 Ram 1500 hold up after five years?

As you might expect, the Ram 1500 is no longer looking showroom new.

Driving on gravel and dirt roads has taken its toll, with the bumper’s paint becoming badly chipped.

However, the headlights, cameras, sensors, and two hooks have all held up well.

The tires have been put under a fair bit of duress and are in need of replacement.

Justin has been loading the 2019 Ram 1500 to the max with almost no issue.

That is, besides replacing the air ride suspension because he felt it was a ‘ticking time bomb’.

The whole system was replaced, with the truck being boosted by two to three inches.

Justin is happy with the truck’s 5.7-liter HEMI, despite the infamous HEMI tick.

With a V8 producing 395HP and 410 pound-feet of torque, there’s no questioning this truck’s capabilities.

It’s certainly not got as much power as this modified Mustang with 1,200hp, but it holds its own.

What issues did he have with the truck?

The AC wasn’t up to scratch for Justin, so he installed a Muzzys AC to make the black truck bearable in the summer heat.

Too much heat in a vehicle is never a good thing.

Soaring temperatures can even make cars appear ‘pregnant’, as was the case in China during a sweltering heat wave.

With the floorboards showing signs of wear and the truck on its third battery, it’s evident that the Ram is no garage queen.

Having clocked over 5,000 driving hours, you might think that the seats themselves would be looking well worn.

But you’d be mistaken – these black leather chairs look brand new.

So on the whole, it’s a bit of a mixed bag.
